About UW Moving

I'm Dale Whitfield, and UW Moving is mine — one Fort Pierce crew, our own trucks, and my name on every job.

Your price, in writing, same day

Tell us the rooms, flag the tight stair turns, and note where a truck can legally park — before the day is out you have a firm figure on paper, not a guess.

What you sign is what you pay

Pads, shrink wrap and tape are all built into the one number up front, so nothing gets re-added the moment the ramp comes down.

Full pack or just the fragile stuff

Kitchens go into dish barrels, closets into wardrobe cartons, and every mirror or stone top rides in a crate cut to fit it.

One lead from start to finish

Whoever measured your home runs the truck and walks the final check with you — your move never gets passed off midway.

I grew up off Okeechobee Road and spent years loading other outfits’ trucks up and down the Treasure Coast before I painted my own name on the door in 2011. UW Moving has been a Fort Pierce company from day one.

Yes — UW Moving is a fully licensed and insured, owner-run moving company based in Fort Pierce, FL; we run our own trucks and uniformed crews.

We’re not a broker, a matching site, or a lead reseller. When you call, you reach me or my office — not a phone bank in another state — and the crew at your door is on our payroll, in our shirts, driving our trucks.

The people you’ll deal with

  • Marisol Reyes keeps the schedule, the COIs, and the St. Lucie County paperwork straight — bilingual, so nothing gets lost in translation.
  • Colton Reeves runs the truck board across three counties every morning.
  • Xavier Pratt leads the pianos, gun safes, and long beach-condo carries.
  • Damon Held takes the long hauls up I-95 and Florida’s Turnpike.
  • Tyrell Boyd is our downtown Fort Pierce and Vero walk-up specialist.

How we work

About fourteen uniformed movers, all on our own books — never day labor. We carry Florida intrastate moving authority plus US DOT and MC authority for interstate runs, bonded and insured. Salt air, tight stairs, and hurricane-season deadlines are part of the job here, and we plan for all three.

Meet the owner

Dale Whitfield — Owner of UW Moving

I’m Dale, and UW Moving is mine — owner-run, no partners, no franchise behind it. I grew up in Fort Pierce off Okeechobee Road, loaded and drove trucks up and down the Treasure Coast for other outfits for years, then put my own name on the door in 2011. One promise has anchored the company ever since: a customer should have the full written figure in hand well before move day, never watch an hourly clock creep upward on them. What began as a single truck is now a whole yard of them, yet that promise hasn’t shifted an inch. Your signature goes on the price before the first carton is lifted; the movers who show up wear our shirts and sit on our own W-2 payroll, never a subcontractor; and when you dial the number, it rings here in Fort Pierce, not at some distant call bank. Years of Treasure Coast moves taught this crew what really makes or breaks a job here — downtown Fort Pierce and Vero walk-ups, Hutchinson Island beach-condo carries with a booked elevator and a certificate of insurance, houses out toward Port St. Lucie and Stuart, and load days worked around salt air and hurricane season. Because that name rides on every truck, an heirloom in our hands gets the same care I’d give a piece lifted straight off my own porch.

How Your Move Goes With Us

  1. 1

A free quote in about ten minutes

On our end: Give us the room count, tell us whether it’s stairs or an elevator, and show us where a truck can legally park — a written price comes straight back.

Where you help: Keep your building’s COI rules and elevator windows handy; that’s the detail that turns a rough guess into an exact number.

  2. 2

We nail down your date and building access

On our end: The freight-elevator slot and a clear length of curb both get arranged with building management and the city well beforehand, so on the day the truck backs up to your entrance instead of sitting half a street away.

Where you help: Settle the two dates — out of the old place, into the new one — and give us whichever one leaves less wiggle room.

  3. 3

    Everything gets wrapped and padded

On our end: Blankets cover every piece, upholstery is shrink-wrapped, and bed frames and table legs come apart into bags tagged with their own hardware.

Where you help: Mark each carton with the room it’s headed to, and keep papers, keys and small valuables with you, not on the truck.

  4. 4

Load out, drive, unload and final walk-through

On our end: Whoever loads your things is the same team that carries them back in at the other end — each piece set down where you direct, bed frames reassembled, and every scrap of used packing hauled off when we go.

Where you help: Walk the place with the crew lead before the truck pulls off, while anything still not right costs you nothing to fix.

Not sure what the move will run?

Send us a few details and a written quote reaches your inbox by day’s end — based on your home, the date you want and every piece riding the truck. It costs nothing; it’s simply a firm figure to plan around.

  • Fully insured, with Florida intrastate authority alongside US DOT & MC credentials for the interstate runs
  • The one written figure is yours to sign off on before anything gets loaded
